Q&A with Local Camp Hill Credit Union: InTouch CU
Camp Hill Banking Rates conducted an interview with local Camp Hill credit union, InTouch CU, to find out more about the benefits of joining and the products and services offered to members:
Camp Hill Banking Rates: Why should someone choose a small local financial institution over one of the well-known national chains?
InTouch CU: InTouch Credit Union is not a large national financial institution but does have a strong presence in the Collin County, TX area (Carrollton, Frisco, Little Elm, McKinney and Plano); in greater Las Vegas, NV (Henderson, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas); in Michigan (Auburn Hills, Pontiac and Troy) and Virginia (Herndon and Sterling).
That said, ITCU has always supported the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People” by looking at each person or family’s financial needs and finding the best possible solution to fit their needs because one size does not fit all. And, as a credit union, there are no stockholders or Wall Street investors to please, only the hard-working folks who trust us to manage their money, provide a fair return and low-rate loan options.
Camp Hill Banking Rates: How do you see the web impacting your customers’ finances? Have you seen a shift in your walk-in vs. online customers/members?
InTouch CU: InTouch Credit Union has long recognized consumers’ need to access their accounts during non-branch hours or when they are away from home. In fact, InTouch was one of the first credit unions to offer home banking in the early 90s and to utilize the web to provide banking services to its members.
Since then, ITCU has continued to offer new ways to use the web to provide banking services–the latest includes InCompass, a self-help, personal financial management tool (PFM) providing budgeting, goal-setting, cash-flow and net worth information at your finger-tips. While these online tools have allowed members to open accounts or apply for a mortgage or auto loan, some members still prefer to visit our branches.
We enjoy serving their needs as much as those who would rather do so in the comfort of their home or on the go. While branch traffic has indeed lessened over the years, it is not likely to disappear anytime in the foreseeable future and ITCU will continue to open new branches where it makes sense to do so.
Camp Hill Banking Rates: What type of special promotions or financial education, etc. do you offer your customers/members?
InTouch CU: InTouch offers periodic deposit and loan specials throughout the year, but potential members shouldn’t wait for one to start a relationship with ITCU.
As a credit union, ITCU believes in providing value at the lowest possible cost to the member. Our everyday deposit/loan pricing and competitive fee structure makes InTouch a great option for consumers of all kinds.
InTouch does not just serve certain companies or demographics; it offers financial services for children and adults, people just starting out on their own to well-established executives with substantial assets. Financial education is provided to ITCU members in many different ways, including in-branch literature, staff consultation and third-party vendors who specialize in financial education.
